Electric and Gas Powered Golf Carts Electric powered golf carts are typically powered by a 12 volt battery. Charging time and distance traveled per charge will vary. A full charge may need to run overnight but all should easily be able to cope with a whole round of golf. To charge, it can usually be plugged into the mains.
Units are available, such as the Solo, which can convert ordinary push carts into powered golf carts. These clip onto the frame and are easy to remove again in order to fold and store the cart as normal. Electric powered golf carts which can be driven usually have a 36 or 48 volt battery. Again, charging and usage times will vary, but expect to charge overnight for a full day of use. Electric powered golf carts are more popular then gas powered, partly due to environmental concerns and the fact that the power in them has improved over the last few years making them a more enjoyable alternative to gas.
